My First Life
I recently started playing Second Life (though I’m told, emphatically that it is not a game.) I designed an avatar and started shaping my new personality. Apparently I like to wear plaid and do a lot of outdoor activities (like kayaking and skydiving.) In RL I’ve never “skydove” and it’s been more than ten years since I was in a kayak but I would like to do those things. So what makes the “matrix” of SecondLife any less real than the physical world? So, in the belief that SecondLife is not a game, I shall not refer to my existence in this space as “Real Life” but rather, my “FirstLife.”
My name is Tye Simondsen, my friends call me Simon. This is the first of many blogs that will track my experiences as a noob in SL and a regular guy in FL.
